Located north of Ponta do Altar, its sand is framed by a dense patch of Mediterranean vegetation. This beach, which marks the natural entrance of the Arade River, is surrounded by clay-colored cliffs, where the marine fossils that make up the limestone rock are visible, forming natural sculptures that the sea erosion has carved through the geological ages.

From here, you can see the jetties at the entrance of the river and, in the background, the marina and the city of Portimão.
